This app verifies your address for YardCode itself. If a bank, an agency or an employer asked you to verify, use their app rather than this one: verification runs inside the app of whoever requested it.

What this app collects, and why
Given under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Read it before you install anything.
What is collected

| Your location, periodically over the verification window | To establish that you are at the address you claimed. This is the whole purpose. |
| Movement readings from your phone's gyroscope | To tell a phone carried by a person from one left on a table. A phone left at an address proves nothing. |
| Battery level and a device identifier | To explain gaps in the readings, and to notice one device being used to verify many different people. |
| A photograph of your entrance | Only if the organisation requesting the verification asks for one. |
What is not collected
Not your messages. Not your contacts. Not your call log. Not your photographs, other than the one you take of your own entrance. Not what other apps you have. Not your browsing.
How long it is kept
- The individual readings: 90 days, then permanently removed. Every position, every movement measurement.
- The conclusion is kept: that your address was verified, the YardCode, and the totals behind the decision.
A record of where your phone was every half hour stops being useful within months and is the most intrusive thing we hold, so it goes. The finding may still matter in ten years, so it stays.
Who sees it
The organisation that asked for the verification, and our own staff where they must in order to run the service. Nobody else. We do not sell address data and we do not share it for advertising.
What you can do
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
- Ask for it to be corrected, or deleted.
- Withdraw at any time by uninstalling the app. A verification in progress simply stops.
- Complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission if you are not satisfied with how we answered you.

Your choice
Installing this app is voluntary and you can stop at any time. Whoever asked you to verify should be able to offer another way, including a person visiting in place of an app.
