Things worth checking first
These account for most of what reaches us, and you can settle them in a minute.
- 401 on every call
- The key is wrong, rotated, or the wrong kind. Secret keys (sk_) are for your server; publishable keys (pk_) only work in the Address Picker; app keys (yca_) only work in the mobile app.
- 403 with "not allowed on this address"
- The key is restricted to particular websites or IP addresses. Check Settings → API keys.
- 402
- Out of balance. Nothing was done and nothing was charged. Top up from your dashboard.
- 429
- Too many requests. Wait and retry; the limits are per key.
- A verification stuck on "pending"
- A verification runs for 48 hours before a verdict. The window end is in the status response.
